GP National Survey Results 2022

The GP national survey results are in for 2022, as usual we’ve pulled out the highlights for our practices. Nationally the survey shows the huge pressure that the primary care system is under with some very challenging results showing how difficult it is for us all at the moment. In that context we should be incredibly proud of what we have achieved and the scores for our practices. You can see the full national survey at  www.gp-patient.co.uk.

Save the Date - PCS AGM

Following our successful event last year we will once again be hosting a virtual AGM, and would like to use the meeting as an opportunity to engage with as many practices as possible. Please save the date to your calendars and we will send more details in due course

Non-medical prescribers: self-certification of ongoing competence

Non-medical prescribers are required to complete an annual self-certification of ongoing competence with the ICS. You will receive an email from the ICS team, in the coming days asking you to undertake this in order to maintain your prescribing status. This will be an online process and details of how to complete this will be included in the email. Please ensure you comply if this is applicable to you.

Extended Access routine referral process updated

Our clinical lead for Extended Access, Dr Andy McCoye has created updated guidance on the Extended Access routine referral process.

GP Teams Study

Are you interested in taking part in the GP Teams Study? The purpose of the overall research is to explore how the composition of the workforce in general practices, and the working relationships among team members (called team climate), affects the quality of care and health outcomes for patients. The national survey of practice staff is exploring team climate and staff wellbeing in practices.

Primary Care Sheffield Suggestion Box

Just a reminder about our PCS Suggestion box, we want everyone in the team to feel like they are able to make suggestions about how we can improve, share feedback, and tell us about examples of good or bad practice you have seen. We have created the team suggestion box as an opportunity for you to share ideas anonymously. Suggestions will be monitored on a weekly basis and we will report back in TeamTalk.

This is a space for constructive ideas and suggestions or for highlighting generic non-urgent issues. If you have urgent or specific concerns please raise them with your line-manager or consult our whistle-blowing policy for other ways you can highlight problems anonymously.

Heeley Green Surgery - patient feedback

We received some fantastic feedback this week from a Heeley Green patient, our patient said ‘I just wanted to say a big thank you! I called up on Monday worried about my poorly son and I had a phone consultation, then an in-person appointment by 10.30am.  The antibiotics prescribed have made my son better quickly, he's no longer in pain and I have my smiley, happy boy back again. Efficient service and I'm very grateful’.
