The Community Coordinator is responsible for managing a new program: Collaborating for Empowered Communities and Cleaner Waters. The program focuses on community engagement, outreach, and an organized listening tour of Pittsburgh's communities that are disproportionately impacted by water quality issues (hereafter, EJ communities.) They aim to give their rivers and streams a voice by empowering communities and highlighting the value of clean and healthy waterways for all citizens. They hope to learn from communities while leading grassroot efforts to empower residents through a variety of activities- virtual presence, in-person activities, and educational materials focused on watershed education and rights to clean water. The Community Coordinator will help serve as a spokesperson and public advocate pertaining to environmental justice issues relating to 3RWK's and WOSP's mission, vision, and goals.

UpstreamPgh is hiring an Ecosystem Program Assistant to join their dedicated staff in the east end of Pittsburgh, PA. They are seeking someone who loves to spend time outdoors, get their hands dirty in the garden, working with volunteers, and facilitating successful community programs. This position will support the Watershed Programs Manager other staff in facilitating restoration programming, addressing new challenges in Fern Hollow, and maintaining green stormwater infrastructure. This position will manage the Urban EcoStewards Program, which is a major component of their long-term stewardship program for both the restored Nine Mile Run Stream and their growing inventory of Green Stormwater Infrastructure Projects. An overarching function of this position is to further develop and implement the program through the recruitment, training, and retention of community volunteers.
