Shave the Peak is a voluntary program led by Green Energy Consumers Alliance to encourage us to lower energy demand on days when the temperature goes above 85 degrees.  By decreasing demand especially at the time of day demand is highest -- 5pm to 8pm -- it reduces the amount of the more expensive and dirtiest fuel that goes online.
