Maggie's Music Academy will be holding a ribbon cutting and grand opening on Saturday, July 23 from 1-3 p.m. Free hot dogs, face painting, music, giveaways, sweet Caroline's Ice Cream Truck, and more!  Children's Art Classes at the Uptown Gallery will be held on Wednesdays during July and August. Adult workshops in acrylic, watercolor, acrylic paint pouring, encaustic, and glass fusing are also offered. Smoky Mountain Pregnancy Care Centers in Cullowhee and Franklin have an educational parenting program to earn “Points” to use to obtain free items for your family. The centers carry formula, diapers, wipes, baby items, and clothing up to size 6, as well as strollers, car seats, high chairs, pack n’ plays, etc. Donations are always welcome. Bryan will be hosting an open mic night from 7-9pm. Our WNC Artist Spotlight/Open Mic is a great chance for local musicians to try out new songs, get some practice in front of an audience, or even book a future gig at one of our taprooms!

Christmas In July Fun! innovation Station at Dillsboro Christmas In July is officially on the 25th, but we're celebrating early on the 23rd! You know...it's never too early to get in the holiday spirit! Our taproom will be decorated as if Santa was hitting the beach! It surely will be toasty outside, so come in and enjoy some summer frost with our festive wine slushies! We'll have our Christmas selfie wall set up with props and activity pages for kids! Primitive Outback Kayaking and Gem Mining
We are open now for Gem Mining, Kayaking, and visiting our baby fainting goats 5 days a week, Thursday - Monday 10:30am - 4:30pm, Tuesday and Wednesday all by reservation.

CareNet on Bidwell Street will be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  A box of food may be picked up once a week.

Uptown Gallery on Main Street's new hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Food Pantries :

Manna Food Bank is now at Bethel United Methodist Church. To reserve a food box, call (828) 634-1116 and leave a message with the following information: your first name and last initial; phone number to confirm pick-up time; number of people in your family; if there are allergies in the family; and any specialty items you might need, like diapers, etc. Pick up is at Bethel UMC, 81 Bethel Church Road, off Highlands Road.

Franklin Covenant Church- Host a Free Lunch And Pantry Once a Month on the fourth
Saturday of the month. It runs from 11:00 am until we either run out or there are no more people coming. It is a drive-through and to-go service. In addition to a free hot lunch, we give out dry goods and pantry supplies, like cleaning supplies, etc.

Holly Springs Baptist Church, 2nd Mile Ministry is open 10 to Noon Mondays providing a food pantry, children's clothes, and financial aid (rent and utilities) for families and seniors in need. 

Five Fire Departments in Macon County – Nantahala, Cullasaja, Sky Valley, Clarks Chapel, and Burningtown – are open Monday thru Friday for drive-up food deliveries from 1 to 4 p.m. for anyone who needs food.

Newman Chapel Baptist Church Homecoming will be held on Sunday, July 24, 10:30 a.m. Rev. Scott Slaton will bring the message. Special music will be provided by Issac’s Well. Everyone is welcome to attend. 

Burningtown Baptist Church Homecoming Celebration will be held on Sunday, July 24, at 10:30 a.m., to celebrate 183 years of ministry in the community.
