Please come home. Please come home into your own body,
Your own vessel, your own earth.
Please come home into each and every cell,
And fully into the space that surrounds you.

Getting to Know Our Parishioners

Pat Coleman and her husband, Jim (deceased)

Featuring Pat Coleman
I was a military kid and that means a lot of moving. Most was between west coast and east coast. While in college I married a recent graduate of the US Naval Academy and the moving continued across the US and to Japan and also to Singapore.
After ten years of the Military wife thing I ended up single and in California, always my favorite place to live. Three years later I remarried and here I am 40+ years later in the best of all possible worlds.
A career move in higher education brought me to northern CA from the Los Angeles area. I eventually became dean of admission and then moved on to Vice President for admission and financial aid at several colleges and universities.
I am still working but not at a specific college or university. Instead I am a search consultant with an executive search firm that places presidents and deans at not for profit universities and colleges
I was introduced to St. Patrick's by Laurie Hogen, who is a very dear friend. And a unique factoid: I cannot whistle!
The past few weeks we have learned about some of our new parishioners, Doug & Valerie Richardson, Candace MacNair and Pat Coleman! Now you can find their information in our Church Family Directory. Our directory was last updated TODAY! Be sure get your revised copy.
If you do not have the newest directory, please click on this link or the link below. You may also call the administrative office at 707-833-4228, ext. 1

Tuesday, July 5, 2022 ~ St Patrick Food Distribution:
Ted Dorman, Eleanor Albon, Pam and Larry Hallett, Joel and Anna Butterworth, Barbara Spangler
|
|
Below take a look at Eleanor's thankful note to her awesome volunteers who helped her distribute food earlier this week!
Thank you to Ned, Gordon, Karen, Pam, Brad, driver Ron and rep Arturo. 46 households and 168 individuals got food tonight from caring and welcoming volunteers!
Special thanks to Ron. While unloading, the hydraulic lift on the truck began leaking. The lift was down and couldn't be raised to unload food. Ron, Arturo and the volunteers manually lifted what food we could off the truck and carried it to the distribution tables. The few things that were too heavy were returned to REFB.
While waiting for the repairman, Ron joined the volunteers! Fortunately for us, the repairman arrived just before we finished. Unfortunately for Ron, he was supposed to have left St Pat's about 4:30. It was 6:30 before repairs were completed, but he was still smiling as he drove off into the sunset!
Six volunteers are needed for Aug 2 and five for Aug 16. Please let me know if you can help. If possible, arrive about 4:30 p.m. to set up. We close at 6:00 p.m. The rewards are heavenly!

White Socks! White Socks!
|
|
|
We heard that there was a need for new white socks for people who go to the FISH Food Pantry to pick up food. Socks for men and women can be donated from our parishioners as they enter the narthex of our church. A barrel will be right inside the front door, in the left corner. Donations will be delivered monthly by any one of our St. Patrick's members, who volunteer at FISH in Santa Rosa.
In the past, St. Patrick's donated socks for people in need, and then came Covid! We are now back in business, and you have an opportunity to donate this coming Sunday!
It's a great day, when we can help someone put their best foot forward, in a new pair of socks!!

The Suicide Hotline number has changed!
As of July 16, 2022, the once 11-digit number is now simply 988.
When people call or text 988, they will be connected to trained counselors with the existing lifeline network.
The Diocesan Partners in Ministries of Health are encouraging congregations to get this up-date out to the people they serve as a valuable resource.

Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have compassion on our weakness, and mercifully give us those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask; through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
