SDWG Cadet Team Excels
in National Competition
The South Dakota Wing cadet competition team placed in the top 10 at Civil Air Patrol’s National Cadet Competition in Ohio this month. The team, from Sioux Falls Cadet Squadron (SFCS), had previously earned the right to represent North Central Region in the region cadet competition this spring. (Read more)

Ground Team Skills
Nineteen cadets and five senior members from South and North Dakota attended the South Dakota Wing’s basic ground team school July 22-24. (Read more)
SDWG To Hold Exercise in Custer
South Dakota Wing, Civil Air Patrol (CAP), will conduct a search training exercise based at the Custer County Airport on Friday and Saturday, August 12-13. The training will include air and ground search and rescue skills. (Read more)
CAP to Hold Annual
Aerospace Education Day in Onida
South Dakota Wing, Civil Air Patrol (CAP) will hold an Aerospace Education Day for its youth members, known as cadets, August 19-21 at the Onida, SD fairgrounds. The event will include orientation flights in CAP aircraft, multi-engine model rocketry, small search drones, and a range of other aerospace and STEM activities. (Read more)

Cadet Recruiting Initiative
South Dakota Wing is beginning an incentive program to similar cadet recruiting.
The program, to be administered by Capt. Richard Rezac, SDWG Recruiting and Retention Officer, will offer CAP t-shirts to top cadet recruiters in each SDWG unit. (Read more)

Big Sioux Composite Squadron
Participates in Community Events
Last week was a great week for the Big Sioux Composite Squadron cadets. On Thursday, they had a drone class at the Trias Ranch, the squadron color guard was in Bruce Saturday for the annual community parade, and the unit held a recruitment event in Brookings at the Pioneer Park for National Night Out Day.
