Oh, hi friends!

I was chatting with someone the other day about a book project he wants to work on.

He’s been stuck on it for quite awhile, but it’s clearly important to him.

The way he talked about it, I could practically see a little guilt cloud hanging over his head.

Why am I not doing the thing I want to do?

And he said something interesting: All it would take is an hour a day.

Not a major upheaval of his life. Not giving up another priority.

One hour a day.

Part of me hopes that after articulating what he needs, he’ll be able to move forward.

But articulating what you need is always the first step.

Why are you not doing the thing you want to do?

And then:

What would it take?

“What is age? You’re not too young to do anything. I feel like I have proven to myself that I can do anything that I put my heart and mind to.”

Obsessed with Alena Analeigh Wicker, who is 13 years old and was just accepted to medical school. (She’s also been an intern at NASA and is an entrepreneur and philanthropist. Here’s the money quote: “‘I just have extremely good time management skills and I’m very disciplined.” YES YOU ARE. (h/t Colin)

To Ease You Into the Weekend

Here is Yo-Yo Ma playing his cello in the woods, surrounded by a birdsong chorus. Absolutely beautiful. (h/t Aunt Gina!)
