The GRAMMY Award submission process is open!

Applications to submit to the GRAMMY awards are now open! Artists, you have until August 31, 2022, to submit your recordings to the First Round Online Entry Process Access Period. Find out more about key dates and deadlines here.

We know that the current GRAMMY submissions are not indicative of the full range of folk music being created by our community. Help us expand the industry view of our genre (listed under the American Roots category) by submitting eligible recordings to the Best Folk Album category!

You do not need to be an American artist to submit or be nominated for a GRAMMY. Your recording simply needs to be commercially released for general distribution in the United States during the eligible time period. Submissions can be made by any NARAS (Recording Academy) member by logging into your member account, while record labels and registered media may submit via www.grammy.org/media-registration.

Are you an FAI Member? We can submit for you!

If you are not a member of the Recording Academy you can still have your album submitted for the Best Folk Album category on your behalf. In addition to asking any Recording Academy member label or agency to submit on your behalf, FAI is happy to do so for our members. Please fill out this form to have FAI submit your eligible recording.

We are able to submit recordings on behalf of our members for FREE until July 28, 2022. If you submit your recording to us after this date, the cost will be $75. The rate increases again to $125 on August 18. All submissions must be received by Monday, August 29.

If you have any more questions about submitting to the Recording Academy, check out this FAQ page. Best of luck!

FAI acknowledges that all of its activities and that of its North American member organizations take place on ancestral Indigenous lands. FAI’s office is located on the traditional land of the Kansa/Kaw, Osage, Kickapoo, and Očhéthi Šakówin nations.

The purpose of making this land acknowledgment in post-colonial society is to show respect for Indigenous peoples, recognize their unique culture and enduring relationship to the land, and raise awareness about histories that are often suppressed or forgotten.
