Growing together -

Taking a 30-week journey to become more like Jesus

Crosspoint is just two weeks away from starting its 30-week journey in studying "Believe: Living the Story of the Bible to Become Like Jesus."

"This is the first time since 2018 and the 40 Days of Prayer that we have done a study that incorporated all areas of the church," said Pastor Israel Cox. "While 'Believe' will run longer, it also will be packaged in sections that will allow us time to reflect and learn how to apply lessons learned."

Pastor Israel is challenging and encouraging everyone to join a Life Group so that they can get the full benefits of doing the study. "While you will be able to learn and grow by just attending the Sunday sermons, you will only be scratching the surface of what you could get from doing this study."

By participating in a Life Group, not only will you build godly friendships, but you will go a little deeper in the study and hone in on some of the applications by sharing and asking questions.

If you are not in a Life Group, now is the perfect time to join. If you are interested in growing with others, use the link below to fill out the info card or complete one at church and hand it to an usher on the way out. You will be contacted to help find the Life Group that is best for you.

Learn how to identify bullying and take action

The National Bullying Prevention Center reports show that one out of every five (20.2%) students report being bullied.

Because it is a prevalent issue, Crosspoint's Richard Jones will lead an educational presentation to bring awareness to parents and the community on types of bullying and what can be done to prevent it. The free workshop, which is open to the community and all ages, will be held from Saturday, August 6, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Crosspoint Church in the Multipurpose Room.

Jones, who has a masters in Pastoral Counseling with a speciality in Crisis and Trauma Counseling, will cover types of bullying and cyberbullying and what parents should look for to identify the issue and steps they can take to address the problem.

"Many people are not aware that their children can be bullied 24 hours a day, 7 days a week," said Jones, who also provides pastoral counseling at Crosspoint Church.

For more information on the workshop or counseling services, phone or text Richard Jones at (228) 424-5741 or email peaceofmindms1966@gmail.com
