Greetings! I hope your summers are going well and that you have or will be able to schedule some time away from work before fall activities begin. Summers do seem to fly by. My son will be starting his senior year of high school in about a week. Then, on to preparation for the beginning of our institution’s fall semester. In these busy times, we continue to pray and believe that God will provide the strength and wisdom to fulfill the callings He has given us.

In this newsletter, we are excited to share information about some new and recurring offers coming up in the next month or two. Read about them below.

Now is the time to take advantage of CLC cost savings on a subscription to Theological Research Exchange Network (TREN). The discount rate starts at 10% but could increase based on the number of participating libraries. September 9 is the deadline for participation in our annual CLC offer for TREN. See the website for details and the 2022 order form.

New! CLC members now have the opportunity to save 10% off an annual subscription to the Theological Journal Library (TJL) from Galaxie Software. This subscription gives libraries access to 39 conservative, evangelical theological journals in full text and can be used in conjunction with the Christian Periodical Index. This discount is for existing or new subscribers. Just like TREN, this offer will be open through September 9. Learn more about this new offer and place your order here.

How is a subscription to the Theological Journal Library a companion product to the Christian Periodical Index (CPI)?

Of the 39 theological journal titles available in TJL, 31 titles are already indexed in CPI.
8 TJL journals are uniquely indexed by CPI. CPI is the only place for subject-based searching for these titles!
CPI is also expanding its coverage of TJL titles:
- Indexing for 9 titles have some, older volumes currently being indexed
- Indexing for 8 titles is a priority for future CPI additions

Springshare is offering a 10% discount to new subscribers for LibGuides and LibGuides CMS, with a 5% discount available on most other Springshare products. There is an opportunity for CLC members to receive a higher discount based on the number of libraries participating. The details for this offer can be found here.

Based on the feedback from the google form last month, Springshare will be offering a webinar for CLC members on August 11 at 3 PM EST through this Zoom link. This webinar will demonstrate the product, focusing on how LibGuides can assist your library in engaging with students and providing more effective reference/research services. The webinar will be recorded and available for CLC members who can't make the live event.

EBSCO is offering a 5% CLC discount for new subscribers to OpenAthens. Additional discounts for both new and existing subscribers are available depending on the number of new CLC subscribers. The details for this offer can be found here.

We are working with EBSCO to schedule a webinar for CLC members that will discuss OpenAthens as a specific kind of solution to the remote authentication needs of libraries and provide information on EBSCO’s role as a vendor of OpenAthens. We will provide the date, time, and link just as soon as possible.
