Speaker Network Meeting follow-up from 28 June 2022

Dear Friend,

It was great to have many of you with us for the Speaker Network update on 28 June. We heard the latest key messages for the upcoming quarter from CEO Andy Atkins, key speaker resources from Fiona Michael, Head of Supporter Relations, and an extended time of Q & A. If you were not able to make it, a recording of the briefing is available here, although please don’t circulate outside of this group.

Below we give you:

  • Links to key new resources and opportunities for you to keep informed and get support in your role as a Speaker.

  • A list of resources we have mentioned previously but which are still very relevant, in case you missed them or would benefit from a reminder of where to find them.

We value your feedback on our speaker briefing and email updates. Please complete our brief survey here

Thanks for all you do.

With very Best Wishes,
The A Rocha UK Team

Key Resources and Links

  • As promised, here is a document link regarding the context messaging from Andy Atkins. Andy uses this selection of 'lines' to link between the global context and environment, as well as how to ask for support etc. Andy shortens or lengthens what he says depending on the need and opportunity; please feel free to do the same around the same essential narrative.

Further resources, mentioned in our previous Speaker Email Updates but included as a reminder

New ‘sign-up’ form. Events are key in enabling us to keep in touch with existing and new audiences. Please always take some sign-up forms along with you to face-to-face events (with a clipboard and pen) and encourage people to sign up during or after your speaking engagement. A short link to share with people to subscribe to our eComms is: bit.ly/aruksignup. Don’t forget to post us the sign-up sheets soon afterwards to: A Rocha UK, 80 Windmill Road, Brentford, TW8 0QH. Please make sure that you have your name and the event you attended marked clearly on the form so we are GDPR compliant and you do not hold onto personal data. A sign-up form that includes the Foxearth Meadows Prayer newsletter as an option is available here.

Posters and leaflets. A range of poster resources are available for you to download and print at home via our Resources page here. Please send any requests for our new general and Eco Church leaflets via the A Rocha UK contact us page here

Our new donation leaflet is now available. This replaces the A4 standing order form. The new donation form is A5 in size and has options to give a one-off donation or set up a standing order. We will be posting these out to Speakers with return envelopes. Please use the return envelope to post any completed donation forms back to us straight away so we are not holding onto personal data. Alternatively, give a return envelope to an individual with the donation leaflet and they can post it back to us in their own time.

Please contact the Supporter Relations team at uk@arocha.org if you would like more leaflets of any kind, but please do give us at least two weeks' notice so we can make sure they arrive in good time for your speaking event.

Our Root & Branch magazine. Our twice-yearly magazine is a great publication to engage new audiences. The Spring/Summer 2022 edition was sent out in mid-May. The theme is taking action for nature together. Feature articles from the current and previous editions are free to download on our website here. Hardcopies of the magazine can also be purchased by contacting uk@arocha.org or calling 020 8574 5935.

Our YouTube Channel. Our video resources continue to grow and you can now view our playlists to select ‘Eco Church’ or ‘Partners in Action’ videos. Subscribe to our YouTube channel here to receive a notification as soon as new videos are uploaded. A short, downloadable 2-min introduction to A Rocha UK can now be found on the Resources page here. This might be useful in aiding your speaking event in a church. You may also be interested in watching the following videos covering the topics: 'Climate grief and pastoral care' webinar, available here and 'Responding with resilience to the climate crisis' webinar available here.

Our Educational Plans. Please flag our education plans for those working with children aged 3-14 as a useful tool to explore nature and care for our planet through indoor and outdoor activities. View or download the education plans here.
