Show Your True Colors

Show your true colors, get your dancing shoes ready and save the date: Saturday, October 1. Join MCCLV for a fun Fall dance from 7-11pm with DJ Maggie Mayy. All are warmly welcome to this LGBTQ+ Dance Party at the church (1401 Greenview Drive, Bethlehem, PA 18018).
Reminder: Great Opportunity to Participate in a Study

Join in a Research Study on LGBTQ+ Inclusion in Church led by Dr. Megan Yost, Associate Professor of Psychology and Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Dickinson College. The study is looking for adults (18 years or older) who identify as LGBTQ+ and are members of an open, welcoming, or affirming church. The purpose of this study is to learn more about LGBTQ+ people who have found a home in a welcoming congregation, because most of the research in this area has examined LGBTQ+ people who have left churches due to experiences with homophobia, heterosexism, and sexual prejudice. Participation involves an online questionnaire, which includes an essay component (a spiritual autobiography). Participants will be offered a $15 honorarium for taking part. To learn more and participate in the study, go to this link: https://dickinson.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3CyaJVW6oLp6kGG
Tricky Tray Update

MCCLV’s annual Tricky Tray Basket Raffle is just over 3 months away. Each year we ask all families in the MCCLV community, who are financially able, to donate a basket, or a portion of a prize basket for the fundraiser. (Prize baskets start at just $25!) Record-breaking ticket sales are anticipated this year. Because of the flurry of activity that this annual event requires, the deadline for submitting basket donations is October 9th. Please submit your prize basket donations to either Lisa Engle, Cheryl Miller or Bob Kasinecz (Donations will only be accepted AFTER the worship service each Sunday). Need some ideas? Great ideas will be coming your way in the next few weeks.
Support Geriatric Parole

Join MCCLV Pastor Rev. Goudy in advocating for geriatric parole on Wednesday, August 10 at 11am at the Lehigh County Courthouse (455 Hamilton Street in Allentown, PA). The Amistad Law Project and the Coalition to Abolish Death by Incarceration (CADBI) are working to move district attorneys around the state to offer their support for (or at least not oppose) Senate Bill 835, which would provide for the possibility of medical/geriatric parole for persons over the age of 55 who have been in prison for twenty years or more. The public is invited to attend the August 10 event to urge Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin to support geriatric parole.
Pining for Bible Study?

Are you pining for Bible Study? It will return soon! A topical study led by Rev. Goudy starts on Tuesday, September 6. MCCLV's Bible Study will include in-person and online options.
