We had sooo much fun seeing all of the creative and thoughtful challenges, connecting with the wonderful VIDEA community, and working in teams to reach our goal of $20,000!!!!
We are so so grateful to all of the amazing challengers and generous donors! The funds raised during the GSC are so important for our work - it allows us to direct resources where and when they are needed most!

Rachel and friends did a water use challenge!
“Freshwater reserves are plummeting, mostly due to the west’s overconsumption in daily use and industry. This week, 3 minute showers, washing dishes by hand, using less water to clean, and turning the damn water off when brushing our teeth”

Lisa has been sharing different ways to reduce waste every day! One day, she showed us the food digester! “Just toss in all your kitchen scrap and away you go! No mess, no smells, no wildlife interference. You can even make your own from a (preferably recycled) plastic or metal trash can (see photo). Look at how much my rhubarb loves the fabulous soil around it, so lush! 🌱”

Hayden did a knowledge-sharing challenge for the GSC! He shared about one of the first cultural burns happening on his territory in decades!
“Our people used to do controlled burns all the time to promote tree and berry growth and to lessen the chance of forest fires by getting rid of ground fuel.”
