Dear <<First Name>>,
We are delighted to welcome you to membership in the Lifetime Learning Institute at Bard College. As a new member, you have been assigned an experienced LLI member who is excited to act as a mentor during your orientation period. Your mentor will contact you soon and will be ready to answer your questions and help solve any problems. You may also contact newmemberhelp@lli.bard.edu with questions. Please note that this email is monitored by volunteers, and it may take a day or two to get a response to your question(s).
Getting to Know the Campus and LLI
This fall, we will have on-campus classes on Fridays and Zoom classes on Thursdays. The course catalog will be emailed to you August 25. Class registration begins September 1 at 9:00 a.m.
Friday, September 8, is our New Member Orientation in Weis Cinema in the Bertelsmann Campus Center. We gather for a social hour at 9:00 a.m., with the hour-long program beginning at 10:00 a.m. After the program, there are walking tours to get to know the campus. If you can’t come in person, Zoom links will be available. Either way, register in ProClass, following the link on our website, lli.bard.edu>Courses. If you can’t make September 8, additional walking tours will be on September 1, starting from the Bertelsmann Campus Center at 10:00 a.m.–sign up for those in ProClass, too.
COVID Precautions
All LLI members have a lanyard with their ID and stickers indicating their vaccination status has been verified. Your ID can be ready on your first visit to campus: email your proof of vaccination (photo of your CDC Covid-19 Vaccination card or digital NYS Excelsior Pass), including at least one booster, to registration@lli.bard.edu by August 15. Your status will be verified in ProClass, and you will then be able to register for in-person classes when registration opens on September 1. You can register for Zoom classes without proof of vaccination.
Parking on Campus
Your car must be registered with Bard Security: complete and send the vehicle registration form at Bard Security Vehicle Registration(use the link below). Notes: disregard the parking fee - Bard generously allows us to park free; enter any five-digit number for your Bard ID; for the Bard email address, use your preferred email address. Be sure to enter your cell phone number so that Security can reach you if there is a problem with your vehicle while it is parked on campus. Security will issue you a hang tag to display on your mirror.
