Australian Orienteering Carnival Prize Draw

The 2022 Australian Orienteering Championships Carnival will be held in central Victoria from 24 September to 2 October.
We understand that everyone is waiting closer to deadlines before they enter major events given all the uncertainty of the last two years. However, there are two good reasons why you should feel safe entering and want to enter the Australian Orienteering carnival well before the closing entry date.

  1. The carnival has a full refunds policy and anyone who can’t come because of covid or related restrictions will get a 100% refund.
  2. All those who have entered by 11.59pm on August 7th will be in the draw to receive:
    • FREE entry to all the Australian Championships that they have entered (two people will be drawn out)
    • One of five free carnival T-shirts as shown also drawn from those entered

The closing date for entries remains August 31. See the carnival website for details.
The carnival bulletin has also been updated to include a correction to the Australian Championship Relay classes, the updated bulletin is available here.

September School Holidays - Think Carnival time for Juniors!

Next school holidays join juniors from all over Australia and be part of the fun at the Australian  Championships Carnival from Sat 24th Sept to Sun 2nd Oct 2022!

Kanga Cup might be your thing but wait till you try this sort of sports Carnival!

Orienteering at its best! A Carnival experience with all the razzamatazz of big screens, loud speakers, remote tracking.

Hang with hundreds of kids just like you – outdoors adventure hungry wild runners taking to the Victorian forests with some of the best orienteers in Australia.

If you’re loving your orienteering, and you are stepping up to moderate level and beyond courses then the All-Australian Invitational Development Team (AAIDT) is for you!

The AAIDT is open to all Australian school students at least 12 years of age at 31 December 2022. The AAIDT will be provided with supervision and coaching support (like representative state teams). Once at the carnival the group can (but is not required to) travel together as a team and will be accommodated at Campaspe Downs with the State teams.

As a development team, it is not essential that athletes remain with the team for the entirety of the carnival (Sat 24th Sept to Sun 2nd Oct), though support and supervision will be available for the entire period. Costs for the 9 day camp, including all meals and accommodation (exclusive of transport) is predicted to be around $1000 for per athlete.

Contact AAIDT Co-ordinator Helen O’Callaghan  woolfordfamilyhome@gmail.com 0478226601
Or ACT Toni Brown (totoni@iinet.net.au, 0411 968 001.

Closing date for entries 7 August 2022.
Enjoy planning to be a part of the biggest orienteering camp on the Australian calendar!
