Summer News and Open Day 2022

What a summer we are having! It is well known that gardeners are never happy with the weather we get but it has to be said that this summer has been testing to the extreme. The heat has tried to defeat the flowers but they are battling on and looking remarkably good considering. Their gardener is looking a little less fresh to be honest but I am enjoying watering and standing just a little too close to any spray when I use it. The water butts are empty, the huge water storage system I use is empty so we are having to haul water from other butts around the farm. I have very strong arms!

We have had a wonderful season with a wedding every weekend and several mid week ones as well. It keeps me on my toes. Many have had lovely installations which make such a great impact for guests and good photo opportunities for the bridal party. Seven weddings are coming up in August but it calms down a bit in September and just one in October….then we start to clear the garden ready for next year.

Open Day

We are once again hosting an Open Day on Sunday, August 7th. We open our gates at 10.30am until 3pm. There will be a guided tour at 11am and again at 2pm. Come and wander around our paths and borders and see what a working flower farm looks like. The ground is a little uneven so please wear suitable footwear. Tea and coffee and cake will be on sale and flowers for sale too. Entry is £7 per person, children are free.
