Reynolds Soars as Biden Slides

National media from both sides of the political spectrum took notice of the ITR Foundation Poll this week.

On the right, Breitbart highlighted the "massive leads" held by Governor Reynolds and Senator Grassley.

On the left, Daily Kos used our polling data, along with the Register's Iowa Poll, to cover Iowa's statewide and congressional races.

Between those two news sites, the Quad City Times cited our poll, and ITR President Chris Hagenow will be on The Insiders with Dave Price Sunday morning at 9:30 to discuss the poll's results.

What did the ITR Foundation Poll reveal?

The bottom line is that the voters of Iowa understand the value of strong conservative leadership and are ready to cast their vote for more of the same.
The poll, conducted by Cygnal, shows Governor Reynolds is very popular, President Biden is not, and Republicans should perform well in the November elections.

Under Governor Reynolds' leadership, Iowans have seen how conservative policies have made Iowa stronger while Joe Biden and liberals in Washington have left our economy in peril. Our state is a shining example of what works and what doesn't, and voters know the difference.

The governor was the most popular person tested and has a high net favorability. Reynolds' popularity is in stark contrast to that of President Biden, who is deeply unpopular with Iowa voters. By a 2-to-1 margin, Iowa voters disapprove of the President's job performance.
Reynolds leads by 14.4 points on the gubernatorial ballot over Democrat nominee Deidre DeJear (55.5 to 41.1).
The ITR Foundation Poll is yet another indicator that Governor Reynolds is on her way to a commanding victory in November. In the face of relentless attacks from the radical left, voters are ready to give Governor Reynolds a mandate for four more years of solid conservative leadership.

Among Iowa voters, Donald Trump would win a hypothetical rematch with Joe Biden by 11 points, up from an 8-point win in 2020.

A generic congressional ballot question shows a political environment stronger for Iowa Republicans than any in recent memory. The almost 13-point margin is more than double the 6-point margin from the 2020 election when Republicans won three of the four congressional seats and wide majorities in the Iowa legislature.

This sort of political environment will also provide strong tailwinds for Republican candidates for the state legislature. With a generic ballot advantage this significant, Republicans are well on their way to expanding their already large majorities in the Iowa House and Iowa Senate

Senator Chuck Grassley holds a 51.6 to 43.4 lead over Democrat Mike Franken.

Inflation and the cost of living is the issue most on the mind of Iowa voters. While abortion has risen in perceived importance over the past few weeks, it is predominantly base democrats who respond that abortion is now their most important issue.
When asked how the federal government should address high inflation, Iowans overwhelmingly want the conservative solution of cutting government spending, reducing taxes, and encouraging small business growth - the exact opposite of what we see coming out of Washington, D.C.

Rejecting Failed Liberal Policy
The failed policies of President Biden and the progressive left are not only causing economic chaos, but the American people are soundly rejecting them. In contrast, Iowans are poised to ask Governor Reynolds to continue leading a successful conservative policy agenda.
