Sunday, August 7th
8:30 a.m. beginning on the New Haven Green

across the from Library at Temple and Elm.
Dear Friends,

“Motion is lotion” rebuffs my protest that “It hurts.” “If you don’t use it, you lose it,” awakens my shoulder into action.   Physical therapy is not for wimps.  And neither are good works.  But our spirit stays healthy by doing good work, just as our bodies stay healthy with motion and activity.

Once an active swimmer, I stopped swimming during covid. Now, at fifty-nine years of age, two years of inactivity have left me stiff, doubting my ability, and questioning my interest.  Yet I am so glad I am active once again, yesterday enjoying my first ocean swim.

Interfaith service day is upon us.  It is time to awaken your spiritual need for service. So come, won’t you serve with us?  We are Jews, Christians, Muslims, Bhai, agnostics, atheists, and more.  It is for the joy of good works that we are put on this earth.

And lo, we have six wonderful projects for you to enjoy.  Feeding the hungry, building a home, painting a peace mural, cleaning our beaches, restoring a cemetery, turning weapons into garden tools, bringing hope to the homeless

Visit IWagePeace.Org to learn more.
And when the day is done, when the hungry have been fed, when homes have been built, when guns have been turned into garden tools by your hands, when graves have been tended and wounds healed, when the giant peace billboard is painted, and when the message of our interfaith service reaches 100,000 daily highway viewers, both your soul and mine will rest in the renewed strength and joy of living, all as God intended.

So right now, let me know you are coming.  Click this link.

I want a head count for the pizza truck.

I want to know who is coming for Habitat For Humanity, who is cleaning the beach with Save The Sound, who is making sandwiches, who is painting the billboard, and who is bringing a New Hope to affordable housing.

Let me hear from you so we can prepare the way.
David Chevan and the Afro Semitic Experience are readying live music, so let us know you are coming, and then tell your congregations, and bring your friends. Interfaith Service Day is Sunday August 7th, 8:30 a.m. starting on the corner of Temple and Elm, on the New Haven Green where we’ll begin spreading the love around.

Call me or email with questions. I so look forward to seeing you.
