Customer Service. Collaboration. Communication |
|
| Dear Neighbor, While speeding is a nationwide issue, we continue to need to find ways to tame our roads. I have set up the Mayor’s Traffic Calming Committee for this purpose. The committee consists of the East Hartford Police, Fire and Public Works Departments and three members of the public. Our goal is to brainstorm ideas that would help alleviate traffic concerns across town. Some ideas include installing stop signs, alternate traffic signals, yard signs, engaging in selective enforcement over already existing efforts, and creating a communication campaign to educate the public on traffic safety. While this is not an easy fix, it would be a disservice to the community if we did not try. Stay tuned for updates! -Mayor Michael P. Walsh |
