WNDB is Looking for a Middle Grade Mentorship Judge
WNDB is looking for a middle grade judge for our 2023 Mentorship Program. Judges will receive all of the applications in their selected genre in October and will have approximately one month to read them and submit reviews using our rubric. Judges are paid a $300 stipend for this work. We are particularly interested in judges who are published authors, librarians, book reviewers, and educators, or who otherwise have expertise reading in their genre. If you're interested, please email mentor@diversebooks.org with your name, a brief paragraph detailing your professional experience, and the genre you are seeking to judge. Thank you!

… and the WNDB Blog
Award-winning author Kacen Callender discussed his new middle grade, Moonflower, saying, "I’d set out to write a story about surviving depression and knowing that this book’s intention could not be to “heal” or “save” any reader, because each individual journey is so deeply personal." Kacen added, "I decided to write this story for the younger me with everything I would’ve wanted to say to them, with the hope that the story and words of love might resonate for other young readers, too."
