A big congratulations and thank you to all of the WAIWAV artists and host galleries for their part in We Are Invisible We Are Visible.

On 2 July 2022, 31 Disabled artists took their surreal interventions to 30 locations across Britain and Northern Ireland, in recognition of the 102nd anniversary of the first Dada International Exhibition.

The event certainly caused a stir with WAIWAV receiving both national and regional press and radio coverage.

Disability Arts Online were commissioned by DASH to create the website and an accompanying zine which was handed out to members of the public on the day. This fabulous publication gave background information about the artists and the event, as well as Disability Arts.

You can view the website here: WAIWAV

Read the write up and poem written by Richards Downes in reaction the interventions on the DAO website.

We hope that you were able to attend some of the interventions or watch online. We will continue to share news and clips as we receive them on the DASH Blog.

You can also search the event on social media under #WAIWAV

Work is now underway to complete the WAIWAV film. This film will incorporate footage from the day, and like the interventions, will take inspiration from the Dada movement.  Once complete, it will be available to view both online and in some of the host galleries. Look out for more details coming soon.

The We Are Invisible We Are Visible project was the 2021 Ampersand prize winner.
