The 2020-2021 Big Shoulders Fund year-end review features the stories of 24 individuals who make it their mission to bring out the best in themselves and the community around them. They are just a few of the students, teachers, principals, parents, supporters, and volunteers who make up the Big Shoulders Fund Family.

Each story is a reminder of the impact we can all have with the right attitude. Thank you for your continued partnership and support for the Big Shoulders Fund mission. We hope these portraits of positivity inspire you to dream Big.

Jeannette Collins believes it is critically important for kids to see their parents involved in their education. Which is why she is a parent volunteer on the Parent Advisory Council at Augustus Tolton Catholic Academy, a Big Shoulders Fund Plus school where her fifth grader Kharizma and kindergartener Kaylee attend. As a grade school student at Pope John Paul II School, Jesus Zavala was part of the first class of Big Shoulders Fund Dury STEM Scholars. While in the sixth grade, he also participated in the Big Shoulders Fund Staddle Camp Program at Brush Creek Ranch in Wyoming. This grew into greater involvement in high school—as an intern/high school liaison for Big Shouders Fund Dury STEM Scholars, a participant in the first-ever Outdoors Bound Program, and a junior counselor at Staddle Camp.
