Just a coupe days left in July, and we crushed our town-wide goal of 100,000 minutes! Last call to record your minutes at lyonslibrary.beanstack.org! Earn tickets for our prize drawings which will take place the first week in August! Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone.
Youth prizes:
- A free book when they complete 10 hours of reading – courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
- Grand prizes are visible to youth in Beanstack (and include LEGO, Board games, age appropriate toys for babies and toddlers, etc.)
Adult prizes:
- Adults will be entered for the chance to win a $100 gift card to the local business of their choice, or may donate $100 to a local nonprofit organization.

Word Wednesday is a great opportunity to meet other writers and share writing projects in a supportive environment. Facilitated by Dr. Kayann Short, PhD and open to all genres and levels. We meet at the library the first Wednesday of each month.

Movie Monday

Join us for the last Monday afternoon film (and popcorn) of the summer!
For our final film, in a nod to Song School up the road at Planet Bluegrass, we're showing Pete Seeger: The Power of Song. It's a profile of the singer-songwriter-activist Pete Seeger featuring interviews with admiring musicians, including Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan and Bonnie Raitt.

Artist Trading Cards

Express yourself at one of the Library's longest running programs! Artist Trading Cards are made on light cardboard or cardstock that is cut to 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. Cards can be decorated using any media: watercolor, acrylic paint, ink, markers, collage, photographs, or cloth.
Create your cards, then join us on the 3rd Saturday of the month to share and trade with others.

The Widespaces Community Initiative invites you to connect with other community members who seek to create a culture of belonging and equity!
Join us on 3rd Thursdays from 6-9pm for a free series of nine monthly gatherings from Sept '22 - May '23. The Lyons SEED Seminar will be a brave space to explore and discuss systems of power, oppression, and privilege. Participation is open to all; a commitment to attending all nine meetings is desired.
