U.S. Senator Michael Bennet eagerly voted for the $280 billion CHIPS Act, a pork-filled bipartisan piece of legislation that subsidizes American microchip manufacturers for their production and research in order to keep up with China. Unfortunately, the Accidental Senator isn't quite ready to curtail the rampant insider stock trading and failure to disclose stock holdings that members of both the Senate and House continue to do. THEY'RE BACK - U.S. HOUSE DEMS PASS H.R. 1808,
THE ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN OF 2022
U.S. House of Representatives' Democrats and a handful of Republicans passed "H.R. 1808-The Assault Weapons Ban of 2022", a major gun control piece of legislation which bans the import, sale, or manufacturing of semi-automatic firearms, including handguns.
This year's mass shootings are thought to be the catalyst for this newest attempt to gut the Second Amendment's right to bear arms; of course, "soft on crime" members of Congress have plenty of armed security to keep them and their families safe - paid for by taxpayers. The bill is expected to have an uphill battle for passage in the U.S. Senate. Read more here.
