Good Morning,

Have you been struggling to manage moodiness and irritability lately? I feel as if we are constantly bombarded with bad news, after bad news and I don’t know about you, but it’s become incredibly hard for me to maintain a positive outlook some days. Even 10 minutes of listening to CNN in my car or perusing Facebook with the intent of checking in on my friends can easily kick off a spiral of anxious feelings and negative thoughts.

However, while I can’t solve the world’s problems, although I wish I could, I have found a solution that has helped me maintain a much better attitude and put a little pep back in my step.

Are you ready to learn my big secret?

I significantly reduced my social media use for a while a couple of weeks ago by removing the apps from my phone and made a concerted effort to not dwell on the negative news stories.

That’s it! These 2 small actions helped me feel a bit better and I highly recommend trying them yourself. Now, I know that for some of you these two actions are much easier said than done, so I want to share a couple of other simple and quick things you can do to help yourself and your loved ones, children and adults alike, to not only stay afloat but thrive in our crazy (yup I used that word!) world.

In this week’s blog, “Monitor Your Mood: Staying Positive in a Not So Positive World,” I discuss the difficulty of staying positive and shine a light on ways we can all feel better.
