Thank you for an awesome summer!
We've had an amazing summer at the Elkins Public Library and it's thanks to you, the patrons. The summer started with the conclusion of Read, Ride, Run and the start of Summer Reading Program. The SRP delighted local children every week with special guests, reading contests, and prizes.
Last month, we participated in Harry Potter night along with the Parks & Recreation Committee at the City of Elkins. We raised money for Friends of the Elkins Public Library by selling Harry Potter-themed concessions and we offered free Harry-Potter games.
The summer ended with our contributions to Elkfest, which was August 13. We offered a free cybersecurity seminar and a fun dog show. We can't wait to offer more seminars (see below for more info!) and the dog show again next year!

Business Class Feedback
As we told you last month, we are partnering with the Elkins Community Network to plan community classes, especially for local businesses. There have been lots of suggestions, but we need help determining what topics are of greatest interest. It would be incredibly helpful if you would complete this Google form to provide your input: shorturl.at/fovAS. You can also email audrabell@elkins.arkansas.gov to offer suggestions on things you would like to learn!

Homeschool Game/Cards Days at EPL
Does your family homeschool? Would you like to have your kids get the chance to hang out with like-minded kids their own age? We would love to start offering space during the school day for the local homeschool community. Our initial idea is to offer our free community room and a few games/cards and invite homeschoolers to come enjoy time together. We could then let the group decide from there where you want the group to go. If you're interested, please call the library at 479.643.2904 or email audrabell@elkins.arkansas.gov.

Voter Registration
Did you know that you can check your voter registration status and register to vote at the Library? You must be registered by six weeks before the election, which is November 8. Come by and we can help!
