AICP Ethics Workshop at 9/16 Awards Ceremony
The 2022 Central Texas APA Awards Ceremony (9/16) will feature a fantastic AICP Code of Ethics Workshop that will have CM Credits for attendees! The Workshop will be led by Carol D. Barrett, FAICP, a regular instructor on ethics for AICP exam preparation, former APA Texas Chapter President, and current APA Texas Chapter Secretary.
Workshop Description: A new AICP Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility was adopted in 2021. New Rules of Conduct have been added and old ones clarified. The previous aspirational principle to “seek social justice” has been expanded. The new AICP Code establishes expectations for planners as they work to elevate equity and act with integrity. This conversation will raise awareness about the new Code language, inform planners about the expectations for their professional conduct, and offer ideas for how individuals can embark on a path to a more justice-oriented practice in their work setting.
