Key academic dates

The first day of class is Monday, Aug. 22. Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 5) is not a class holiday; classes will be in session.

FDOC Cookout with Dr. Shea

Close out your first academic day with free food, games and music at the First Day of Classes (FDOC) Cookout with VP for Campus Life, Dr. Shea Kidd Brown! All students are invited to this free event, held on Manchester Plaza from 5-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22. For quick check-in, RSVP on The Link (or your Corq app).

Do you have ideas for how to improve campus life at WFU? Apply to the Campus Life Advisory Council (CLAC)

The Campus Life Advisory Council (CLAC) serves as an advisory board for the Vice President for Campus Life, Dr. Shea Kidd Brown and provides invaluable input and suggestions for improvements to campus life at Wake Forest University. Applications to join the 2022-23 CLAC are open to sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students. Apply at go.wfu.edu/clac by Friday, Aug. 26, at 11:59 p.m.

Mark your calendars for the Student Involvement Fair Aug. 30

Join us on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 3:30-6 p.m. on Poteat Field for the Student Involvement Fair. Whether you are a new student or a senior, students’ sense of belonging comes from meaningful involvement in campus activities. Join 200+ student organizations and community partners to see the many ways to get engaged on campus and in Winston-Salem. (Rain date: Thursday, Sept. 1, from 3:30-6 p.m. on Poteat Field.)

Not sure how to find out about events?

It may not come as a huge surprise that there is a LOT going on on our campus during the academic year. From performances and concerts to student organization meetings and community outreach, there are a wide variety of ways to get plugged. Your first stop should be The Link, which serves as the events hub for all student events. Bookmark thelink.wfu.edu and download the corresponding app called Corq to find and RSVP to events you are interested in.

Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URECA) Center

URECA provides undergraduate students opportunities to engage in mentored or independent research. Learn more about how to get involved with URECA. You can also view videos highlighting students who conducted research on: heat stress in tomatoes; the politics of Black arts and Black education from the 1965 to 1980; and a study of North Carolina water quality with satellite imagery.
