Aug 9 Meeting Recap

27 people, including six visitors and new members, attended our first fall member meeting. Many members shared pieces they created over the summer. Everyone agreed to continue art sharing for future meetings, but there will no longer be a monthly theme. Bring whatever art you want to share! The August artist demo was canceled due to scheduling mix up, so members socialized until the meeting was adjourned.

Guild President Announcement

Kim Touysinhthiphonexay, who has been Broomfield Art Guild President for the past three years, announced that she plans to step down at the end of this year. Her husband is retiring so they will be traveling more, and she would like more time and flexibility in her schedule. Also this is a good opportunity to start staggering the President/Vice President or Co-President terms so that the entire Board doesn’t have to start over new every two years. This will be easier for the Board and good for the group. The Broomfield Art Guild is on solid footing financially with a manageable suite of activities that meet the diverse needs of its members.
  • For the open VP or Co-President position, the group needs someone with organization, delegation, and management skills who can work with the current Board and group members to help run meetings and make decisions about current and future activities. Ideally the person should be available to attend daytime meetings and be willing to commit to a two-year term.
If you are willing to volunteer for this position or be on the nominating committee that searches for volunteers, please send an email to broomfieldartguild@gmail.com or talk to a Board member at the next meeting.
