Will You Join Us to Celebrate Successful DeKalb Youth?
It has been my honor and privilege to serve on the DeKalb County Juvenile Justice Council.  I invite you to join me this Sunday as we celebrate the successes of youth who have benefitted from the programs of the DeKalb juvenile court, like Youth Build, My Brother's Keeper, mentoring programs, and many more.  Monica Kaufman Pearson will be our emcee for the evening!

To purchase your $25 ticket, please register HERE.  The deadline has been extended to end of day today!  (And of course we will order a few extra meals as well...)

The investment in these young people's lives will pay dividends far into our future.  If you can't attend, you can make a donation HERE.
Meet Keenan Cooper, a young man I met last summer, who received a second chance through YouthBuild, a community base alternative program with DeKalb Juvenile Court.  We hear so many negative stories today, and at last year's Summer Celebration, Keenan and other speakers inspired us and reminded us of the importance of quality interventions and caring and tough staff and mentors who believed in him and his potential.  Thanks to YouthBuild, Keenan has his GED and is a cook at a nice restaurant on the Marietta Square and he loves his job and is on a good path.  I look forward to hearing from new youth at this year's Youth Celebration on Sunday night!
