Congregational Grants Available

The board of the Baptist Home of Rhode Island makes available a certain number of small grants to congregations each year. The grants are designed to help congregations with programs, materials, devices, and improvements that specifically benefit the elderly and disabled. (Projects that benefit the congregation as a whole and/or amount to maintenance or repair are not eligible for these grants.)

First Baptist Church of Wickford recently created four handicapped parking spaces with assistance from one of these grants. In the past, grants have assisted other congregations with repair of exterior ramps, installation of accessible restrooms, and purchase of assistive listening systems.

Attached below is a description of grant program and an application form. For more information, please contact James Ellison, Baptist Home Board president, at jellison9818@gmail.com.

We encourage grant proposals developed through a collaborative process from emerging and established churches; seminaries, colleges, and schools; hospitals, nursing homes and other tax-exempt organizations.
