And just like that the first half of 2022 went by fast and was filled with many activities in which we celebrated partnerships and projects.
First off, we highlight the International Thematic Residency – Almada. Held between March 21 and April 1, in partnership with A Bela Associação/Casa do Burrikórnio and Casa da Dança Almada, this ITR’s local coordinator was Mariana Tengner Barros who proposed the theme The Force of the Invisible: Power in movement. The selected artists Helena Dawin and Telma Santos had the opportunity to develop their artistic research and share results in an end of residency showing.
The two creation projects that Rede More has been accompanying for the biennium 2021-2022, Emilie Philippot’s Las Lagunas and Vitória Teles Grilo’s Meteorologia: tempo para matar, were at creation residencies in April and May at Estúdios Victor Córdon, thanks to the protocol we have signed in scope of their “Em Trânsito” program. Both performances will be part of the 4th edition of Biennial Performative Arts Meeting – (Re)union 2022.
Danciberia, an initiative in partnership with the PAD Association, in 2022 took place in two cities: first in late May, in Seville, and then in June, in Faro. Two days of local visits and exchange laboratories open to the local dance and performing arts community took place. Selected artists Sara Anjo and Álvaro Silva presented their work at CICUS - University of Seville and Teatro das Figuras (Faro).
Last but not least, we highlight the premiere of Meteorologia: tempo para matar on June 25th at Centro Cultural da Malaposta.
We take this opportunity to remind you that the next edition of (Re)union will take off already on September 30th at Espaço Alkantara!
Cheers and see you soon,
Rede More team
