New programme to help people age well in Hackney Marshes
Partnerships for People and Place is a pilot programme, aiming to test collaboration between central government and local places. Hackney has been chosen as one of the pilot areas.
In Hackney, the Partnerships for People and Place initiative will focus on helping people age well in the Hackney Marshes neighbourhood.
Hackney Council wants to focus on the King's Park ward in particular as this has high levels of socioeconomic deprivation and is geographically isolated.
The approach
The council wants to encourage organisations to collaborate across sectors and pool their resources. They want to develop a cohesive programme of activities and move away from competitive bidding.
The council is looking to support initiatives that:
- Get older people connected.
- Improve opportunities.
- Understand ageing.
- Make best use of our assets:
Application forms and further information will be published on Hackney Council's Community Grants page. Applications will open on Monday 15 August and close on Friday 16 September.
