I begin today’s newsletter with two pieces of sobering news. It was announced at the end of last week that Jesus Moreno, co-owner of Piglove Brewing, had been reported as missing to West Yorkshire Police, with a public appeal launched to help locate him. Jesus has not been seen since Monday 1st August, with CCTV footage placing him last in the Harewood Bridge area of Leeds. A picture of Jesus is below and if any of my subscribers are able to help with enquiries, please contact West Yorkshire Police on 101. If you would like to help spread the word, please share the posts from Piglove’s Twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram pages. You can read more about Jesus’ disappearance on the Yorkshire Evening Post website. |

It’s also with great sadness I advise that Frisky Bear Brewing in Morley has ceased trading. I mentioned a few weeks ago that the brew kit was for sale and, more recently, the brewery has been doing a fire sale of stock. Although I have not heard from the owner directly, many other people have confirmed that the doors of the brewery have closed. The social media accounts have also been removed. I can’t stress enough the pressure that small, independent breweries are under, please lend them your support. |

In this week’s issue of Leeds Beer Shorts, Horsforth get experimentally bitter, Quirky drop Doodlebug, Wilde Child’s award triple and much more. |

Welcome to new subscribers! This section is a news digest of happenings at Leeds-based breweries in the last 7 days. The newsletter is prepared on a Thursday, so any news that breweries release between the final draft and the email arriving in your inbox on a Friday, will be included in the next newsletter. If you want to find out more about a particular piece of news, click the word that is underlined and coloured blue. Finally, if you have seen some news online this week and it isn’t mentioned below, it means I have covered it in a previous issue, or there is not enough information for it to feature yet. If you would like to access a directory of Leeds-based breweries, there’s a link at the bottom of this newsletter. |
