'Inside us all is a sense of wonderment.'

What is holding
you back in life?

Greetings of love and light

Last week, we explored the concept of inspiration as a creative. Roxanne was able to share her personal experience and thoughts around the topic as well as her own process of inspiration when it came to writing her novel, Lexi and the Magic Cats.

She also shared some knowledge into what each of the Magic Cats characters represent and what they are teaching children through the story.

In this week's newsletter, Roxanne delves into the question of what holds us back in life. Whether it's wearing that new dress to an event, journaling about painful past trauma that is confronting our lives, or starting that new blog we've always wanted to start - why do so many of us always seem to say: "I'll do it next time" to the things we are passionate about or that bring us joy?

WHAT HOLDS US BACK IN LIFE?

If we owned a life diary and logged in our daily activities, what would it reveal about ourselves? Too busy, perhaps? Too distracted, shut down, sick, procrastinating, stuck, bored, judging ourselves, blaming ourselves or others, and on and on it goes. Let me ask you this: are we awake to ourselves?

So... what if we changed our tune? Would we want to change our tune or would we prefer to stay as we are? Sometimes, holding ourselves back gives us space to think, create and observe.  Sometimes, we like being part of the groove; it feels comfortable to feel held back.

Does your energy have anything to do with it? Fun or fear? Can we do it on our own or do we feel uplifted through our fellow supporters? Do you know what lifts you?
Do you ask for or have feedback on yourself? What do you acknowledge about yourself?

Do we prefer to stay where we are and not doing anything?

Lexi received help from her mother and cousin. The Magic Cats lifted her from her shyness, which was blocking her from enjoying the next part of her life. The cats can see the bigger picture. Can you?

In book two, Lexi and her friends take us on an adventure to discover how we can enjoy life from our own strengths, inner wisdom, and insights by exploring the realms of the power of self. Once we own our strength, inner peace, and wisdom, we can then move forward. We need to come to terms with who we truly are inside and out. It's your call.

Much love

Sometimes, the bravest thing we can do to move forward is to first stop and look inward. The act of critically looking at who we are, who we want to be and confronting the inner work that must happen in order to get from the former to the latter, can be incredibly daunting.

When we feel overwhelmed by the work or growth that needs to take place, we can always take a moment to break things down into smaller steps. Begin with one small thing about yourself that you need to work on and then muster up the courage it takes to do the work.

Often, the first step is the biggest and it's all we need to begin a snowball effect that will eventually see our lives and energy transformed into freedom and authentic expression.

And don't forget that wherever you are in your journey, there is always help along the way. Reach out to your support system to help fill you with courage. If you don't have a support system in person, find a community online! You might just be pleasantly surprised at the support available to you if you simply open your heart to receive it.

It's your call.
