Events and Webinars

Global Period Poverty Forum

Organised by Share the Dignity, the Global Period Poverty Froum will take place from Monday 10 October to Wednesday 12 October 2022 in Brisbane, Australia and online via Zoom.

Ina Jurga, International Coordinator, MH Day, will lead the panel discussion 'Advocacy, impact and research on shame and stigma’ on the first day of the conference. The panel will discuss the status and progress of addressing shame and stigma, alongside successful strategies to address the issue. Ina will share global trends and then panellists will add their perspectives from research on indigenous people's experiences, and solutions provided by government and NGOs working with popular culture, and local change makers.

Find out more information including how to register.

If you are from a low or middle-income country or a student, you can apply for a virtual scholarship.

World Humanitarian Day

Taking place each year on 19 August, World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity to advocate for the survival, well-being and dignity of people affected by crises, and for the safety and security of aid workers.

Dealing with periods is often more difficult in emergencies. Women, girls and other people who menstruate often face a significant loss of privacy and dignity when fleeing conflict and/or natural disasters.

Use our campaign materials created in partnership with the MHM in emergencies (MHMiE) working group to share important stories about your work online.

  • Webinar on MHH Indicators Shortlist for National Level Monitoring | Introduction was co-hosted by Columbia University and the African Coalition for Menstrual Health, and the recording of the webinar is now available

And finally, the first period museum in Asia has opened in Taiwan. Looks fun!
