Hello all! Just a quick update from our family to yours!

anDrew finished his surgical fellowship in Melbourne, Australia, at the end of June. We packed all our earthly belongings into 12 suitcases and traveled to Vancouver, BC, at the beginning of July for a lovely family reunion.

|
|
Grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins all reunited after 4 years apart!

|
|
After 10 days in Vancouver, BC, we drove down to Vancouver, WA, where anDrew’s parents live, and have been staying with them for nearly a month. It’s been a relaxing time, filled with summer camps, blueberry picking, and visits to old friends.

|
We’ll be heading out for a whirlwind 2-week road trip to the northeastern US and would love to see you if you’re available!
|
|
|
We arrive at JFK on August 16, and we plan to drive to Boston, Albany, New York City, southeastern Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC. We depart DC on September 1. Please let us know if you’ll be on our planned route and would like to hang out!

But what are your plans? Where are you going to work? Where are you going to settle?
Yes, yes, we know, many unanswered questions for our family still.
The short answer is we don’t know.
The medium answer: Nolan finished the first half of grade 2 at his wonderful primary school in Melbourne. However, because Australia is upside-down and starts their new school year in January, the second half of grade 2 in the northern hemisphere won’t start until after the Christmas break. We thus have a half-year where we’re not immediately pressed to re-enrol our kids into a school system; so we have decided to take some time off and travel before settling down and restarting formal school in January 2023.
Where will you be traveling?
The routes are still a bit in flux, but we'll head to Brazil from Washington, DC. The end goal will be to arrive in Taiwan in mid-November, where the kids can meet their Taiwanese grandparents and relatives that they haven’t seen in two years.
And then? And then?
Well, it wouldn’t be an adventure if we already knew all the answers. Que nous suivions le Maître qui déjà sait tout ...
