The story of King Saul is so interesting. We have the King that God never wanted being blessed and equipped by God. But then God steps back a bit and allows Israel to see how things pan out when they don't heed God's wisdom. Yet, in all this messy, mixed-bag, somehow, God mysteriously works things towards good. Let's talk about that...

Community Prayer & Listening Walk

A group of us have been walking around the neighbourhood. It's interesting seeing what you miss when you're driving. Being in tune prayerfully and being present in our God-chosen community is important.

What’s going on in our surrounding community? Let’s go for a walk and see, listening to the community, God and praying on the way! We are set to get back out walking, the first Wednesday of each month at 10.30am!!!!

Next walk September 7 @10.30am.

Rebuild News in Brief

STAGE 1 ALMOST COMPLETE

Stage 1 is set to be completed by September. There have been some unwanted but unignorable issues, including some areas of rot in the base plate. I'm sure there's some Christian lesson around building on a firm foundation? 🤔 😜

This has slowed down progress, and will inevitably raise costs. At this stage, we are unsure as to exactly what these unexpected costs will be.

The changeover between contractors (from Stage 1 to Stage 2) appears to be going smoothly thus far, as contracts are negotiated.

Fundraising Appears to Be On Track

Another extra unexpected $100, 000 has popped out of the 'woodwork' from our insurance.

Our fundraising is slowly getting there. So far, outside of insurance or church savings, we have raised:

Givealittle:                    $9,199
Individual Donor:          $180, 000
Individual Donor:          $10, 000
Individual Donor:          $7,000
Praise Jesus Concert: $12, 759
Lotteries                      $300, 000
Jervois Trust               $85, 000
Misc Donors               $8, 3950

Estimated total raised outside of insurance and church savings: $612,348

We are so thankful to all who have contributed thus far.

We estimate that we need to raise another $400-500, 000. There are more donations and opportunities on the horizon. This is doable!

Start getting excited because St Stephen's 2.0 will be a thing of beauty and fit for purpose!
