You told us the issues you care about most.
480 organizations responded with ideas to brighten LA's future.

We're taking a closer look at this year's LA2050 Grants Challenge submissions and the organizations behind them. A preview of some of our key findings:
  • 83 percent of proposals came from non-profit organizations
  • 24 percent of applicants sought funding to launch a brand new program, project, or initiative
  • 57 percent of the organizations are led by BIPOC executive directors
  • 62 percent of applicants planned to reach non-English speaking populations

"THE SCOOP ON LOOT"
Maya Rudolph, Loot on Apple+
The Apple+ show Loot is a comedy about a foundation located in Los Angeles, so naturally, our team has been tuning in! But what, if anything, does the show get right about philanthropy? In advance of this week's season finale, Tara Roth, president of the Goldhirsh Foundation and LA2050, shares her thoughts.

THANK YOU, SJPLA!
SJP Los Angeles
A huge thank you to Social Justice Partners Los Angeles (SJPLA), our LA2050 Grants Challenge evaluation partner. SJPLA invests in and expands the community of people advancing racial and social justice. For the third year in a row, proposals were reviewed and scored by SJPLA members.

TINA'S FAVE FIVE
TINA CASTRO | Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Avivar Capital and a consulting Goldhirsh Foundation strategist

My favorite Los Angeles places and spaces...
PLAY:  When I want to get outdoors for some quality family time, I head to Franklin Canyon Reservoir for a hike.

CREATE:  I love heading to the Studio City Farmer's Market on Sunday mornings! My son first learned to climb on the rock wall there!

CONNECT:  I had the privilege of serving on the Board of the Los Angeles Conservation Corps some years ago and still think they're an amazing youth-serving organization!

LEARN:  I got my MBA at UCLA Anderson, so I'm a Bruin at heart, but I was also lucky enough to teach at USC. Both are amazing schools and offer a wealth of resources for Los Angeles.

LIVE:  I love taking my rottweiler, Bear, to the Laurel Canyon Dog Park! There are always plenty of pooches for him to play with.
