Announcing the

Protactile Language Interpreting

National Education Program (PLI)
The DeafBlind Interpreting National Training and Resource Center (DBI) has become the Protactile Language Interpreting National Education Program (PLI).

PLI is part of the Research and Resource Center with Deaf communities at Western Oregon University. Its educator team consists of DeafBlind individuals who are involved in Protactile Language research, education, and training, and are considered native language models.

Interpreter training can have a profound impact on the communities that interpreters grow with, work beside, and serve. Since 2016, PLI (formerly the DeafBlind Interpreting National Training & Resource Center) has worked to identify the core competencies of qualified interpreters who work with DeafBlind consumers, provided intensive and immersive training to interpreters across the United States, and curated related resources for an online repository.

And, the PLI Module Series continues to be available for free!
