Hello friends,

perhaps many of you heard about the earthquake that hit the northern part of the Philippines (Abra Province). It was a strong 7.2 magnitude and we felt it even though our main projects in Rizal are about 600 kilometers away from the epicenter. But we want to assure you that all our staff, children and everyone involved in our organization are fine. There were very minor insfrastructure issues in our center in Tondo because of it but we were able to fix them right away.

We want to ask you once again to join us in prayer and that you continue to remember this matter in the list of the following prayer points.
1. ABRA EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS
As of this week, almost 16,000 families are recorded to have lost their place of residences and were either in evacuation centers or scattered to other places. There are 11 casualties and over 600 injured victims, however it's the infrastructures and agricultural site that have been damaged badly and is estimated at almost Php 2 billion.

While both the national and local governments have been active in their disaster relief efforts, it will still take a long time for families to go back to their normalcy. Aside from this, the rainy season is coming and we are expecting typhoons coming in the country. This will not make it easy for any new construction work.

So please, include this in your prayer. Pray for those who are injured, who are victims of the earthquake, those who lost a loved one, those who lost their homes and livelihood to the calamity, those who feel hopeless during this time: pray that the will come to know the provision and experience God's strength, love and grace during this difficult time.
2. CHILDREN ADOPTION PROCESSING
Since adoption processing resumed last year after a long pause due to the pandemic, we have pushed forward in trying to get all necessary procedure and documents done so that more of our children can get adopted. However, it has not been all back to normal and it is still taking time for a child to be matched with a family.
So please pray for all our social workers who work hard in making it possible; pray also that our children who are lined up for adoption will be matched with the right family, one who will love truly and raise them the best they can.
3. ON-GOING COURT CASES
We also have on-going court cases on behalf of some of our children who experienced either physical or sexual abuse in the past. These legal cases are unimaginably difficult for them since it cannot be helped that they recall the dark experiences they went through in the hands of the perpetrators. We do our best to minimize the effect on them and prepare them for such hearings.

So join us in this effort by covering our children in prayer, pray for them that they will receive the emotional and mental strength needed to go through it, but also that they continue to receive healing. Pray also for our staff who handle our children's cases related to this matter. Our staff need wisdom, sensitivity towards the children, and understanding.
Thank you for partnering with us in prayer wherever you are right now. God bless you richly with favor, protection and good health.
Your missionaries to the Philippines,
Carsten & Mercy Aust
