As we move closer to September, we are gearing up for an exciting fall here at St. Peter’s. We have a full schedule of formation opportunities for all ages and we have some exciting fellowship planned as well. I will direct you to our eNews for the full list of both in person and Zoom formation offerings beginning in September. There really is something for everyone.

Our program year will resume on September 11, which we have designated as “St. Peter’s Day” again this year. We will celebrate the feast day of our patron saint, Peter, in our worship services. Children and Youth formation will return. We will hold a Ministry Fair in the Parish Hall to celebrate our variety of ministries, with a light breakfast available. We will have an expanded Coffee Hour after the 11:00 a.m. service to provide ample time for fellowship together as we welcome in our new program year.

Fr. Jacob will explain more about our new Sunday schedule in next week’s column, but in order to talk about our upcoming Sunday morning formation and fellowship, I’ll give you a sneak peek. In between our two worship services, we will once again be serving breakfast. We have rebranded this both in name and in style to “St. Peter’s Café,” where we will serve coffee and simple “continental style” breakfast food in the Community Room. At 9:45 a.m., when formation begins, those participating in our Adult Forum will remain in the Community Room. This will provide us with a more intimate setting for conversation around a variety of topics. Following our second service, Coffee Hour will continue as it has throughout the summer. We hope that St. Peter’s Café and Coffee Hour will provide time for fellowship, regardless of which service you attend.

In addition to Sunday mornings, we have a number of ways for you to engage in formation and fellowship throughout the week and during special events. Please take a look at all of the exciting opportunities to deepen your faith and engage with your St. Peter’s community. There have been many lessons learned over these last two years, but one of the greatest is how important it is for us to gather together for worship, formation, and fellowship. I look forward to seeing you there!

The Reverend Amanda C. Stephenson, Associate Rector
