2️⃣ AI Ethics with Lauren
BANMo breaks down a huge barrier to building animatable 3D models by merely using casual videos to produce a highly viable output! Motion capture systems with many cameras and sensors are expensive and inaccessible to most people, so this lowers the bar for creating 3D experiences. If we look even farther downstream, BANMo might even be better for the environment! Less sensors and cameras required for 3D modeling means less hardware that needs to be built, and reducing the demand for physical products would save resources in the long term. The unique object capture feature of BANMo can help create better virtual workplace training experiences. This could potentially save lives, as workers are often trained for dangerous tasks using VR. The streamlined model creation also saves resources, as game developers can work faster using BANMo to create the proper training experience for employees. I’m excited to see all the amazing uses for BANMo!
