Spotlight on BWC Board Member, Tracie Baum:
We are lucky to have Tracie Baum serve as our Community Chair for this year.  Many of you may know her as the amazing and busy Executive Director of the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce.  She and her husband Patrick live in South Bexley and are the proud parents of 3 young sons (see picture).  Tracie has been busy planning the September 22 Annual Taste of Bexley (Bexley's Biggest Foodie Event!!) that will take place at the Bexley Clifton Meadows(2100 Clifton) on September 22 from 5:30-8:00 pm.  Tickets are on sale at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2022-taste-of-bexley-tickets-396723018227 and if you would like to volunteer at the Taste of Bexley, please contact Tracie at traciebaum@gmail.com

Social Media Information:
For any BWC member who is on Facebook, please join our BWC Members Only private group where we will share BWC news and updates- here is the link:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/487251950125861/.   BWC also has a public page that you can follow at:  https://www.facebook.com/bexleywomen

Are you interested in a Stop the Bleed class?
If you would like more information on a free, 90-minute class on the best ways to stop severe bleeding (this could be life-saving!), please let us know.  The Columbus Health Department will give us our own class if we have a group that is interested.  The class would probably be the last week in Sept.  Please let Susan Yost (susanyost8@gmail.com) know if you are interested and what times you would be available.  For more information, or to take the online course, go to Stopthebleed.org.

Calling any members interested in our Arts Group!
Pre-pandemic, our Arts Group went to an art gallery, attended a jazz concert and much more.  If you are interested in having such a group again, please email Susan Yost (Susanyost8@gmail.com) and  please include what you are interested in doing and when you are available (i.e. daytime, and or evening/weekend).

Hope to see you at any and all of our Fall events!

Monique Lampke
BWC, 2022-2023 President

Successful August 24 Social Mixer!
A very special thanks to the many BWC members who joined us at Grain-n-Grape on August 24 for a casual social mixer.  What a great way to kick off our year and we loved meeting new members!  We hope to see you all at our September 10 Progressive Event (and bring a prospective new member or two!)

BWC Garden Club is meeting on Tuesday, September 6:

Our Garden Club is a small group of people interested in gardening. We are a newly formed part of the BWC looking for club members in sharing their garden with our group and caring for the South Community Garden (see picture). The group will pick a date to share their garden (if they want to) during the growing season and also take a turn at the South Community Garden to water, weed and harvest its crops.   Our first gathering will be at the home of Suzanne Adams, 971 Grandon Ave on September 6 from 4-6. If you are interested in joining, please RSVP to suzy716@gmail.com and bring your green thumb!

Cooking Club -First Meeting September 15:
Bexley Womens Club Cooking Group kicks off the new season Thursday, September 15th at 6:00 pm at the home of Maggie Lyons. We may even have a guest speaker.  Each gathering will continue the tradition of a theme and our first is “Summer’s Bounty"- anything from appetizer to dessert.  If you have questions, contact Sherri Grubbs at 614-235-6110 or slgrubbs@gmail.com.  Anyone can join or just show up!

Volunteers Needed for Upcoming Community Events, including Labor Day Block Party/Brewfest on Sunday, September 4:
BWC has the opportunity to participate in various community events and we'd love to have you.  Please sign up on the Sign Up Genius below.  Please note that for these events, BWC will be provided a table and chairs and we can normally offer a bake sale, refreshment, children's activity, etc. The "Event Lead"  will be responsible for facilitating BWC’s participation at the event, and organizing the ‘station’ volunteers.
