Ruta culinaria en Ecuador: un viaje por carretera

¡Ya está lista nuestra tan esperada ruta culinaria! Un viaje por carretera a lo largo de 12 días, recorriendo el Ecuador desde la sierra (Quito) hasta la costa (Manabí) pasando por el Chocó Andino, degustando la infinidad de cocinas regionales, conociendo a la gente que las prepara, la tierra donde se cultivan los alimentos, y la cultura y la historia de cada lugar.

Están abiertas las inscripciones para dos programas:

• 29 julio-10 agosto 2023

• 4 al 16 de octubre 2023

Recetas de cocina como patrimonio cultural: Simposio y muestra documental en cuatro días

Este simposio reúne a 6 expertas de la alimentación de México, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú y Estados Unidos para dialogar desde distintos enfoques sobre las recetas de cocina como nuestra herencia cultural.

Son tres paneles, uno por día, con dos expertas por panel, entre el 20 y el 22 de septiembre de 2022. Cerraremos el evento el viernes 23 con una muestra de tres cortometrajes documentales que giran en torno a la temática del patrimonio y la soberanía alimentaria en Ecuador.

• La Tonga de Olivia (8 min)

• Tarpuna: El maíz (34 min)

• Raspando coco (31 min)

*Siempre y cuando consigamos financiación adicional, ofreceremos servicios de interpretación del español al inglés para las personas que no hablan español. Todas las películas tienen subtítulos en inglés

Culinary Route in Ecuador: A Road Trip

Our long awaited culinary route is ready! A 12-day road trip across Ecuador from the highlands (Quito) to the coast (Manabí) passing through the Andean Chocó forest, tasting the regional cuisines of each community, meeting the people who prepare the food, stepping on the land where the food is grown, and learning about the culture and the history of each place.

Applications are now open for two programs:

• Summer: July 29-August 10, 2023

• Fall: October 4-16, 2023

Cooking recipes as cultural heritage: Symposium and film screening in four days

This symposium brings together 6 food experts from Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and the United States to discuss recipes as our cultural heritage.

There will be three panels, one per day, two experts per panel, between September 20 and 22, 2022. We will close the event on Friday 23 with a screening of three short documentaries that revolve around the theme of food heritage and sovereignty in Ecuador.

*Provided we secure additional funding, we will offer interpretation services from Spanish to English for non-Spanish speakers. All films have English subtitles.

Voices of the Forest

Voces del Bosque is an artistic residency designed exclusively for professional artists of all branches. The program is an invitation immerse yourself in the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest to listen to the voices of the forest and create artistic expressions from this experience. Registration for the residency is now open.
