Volunteers Needed

Parent Preview Night and Potluck Dinner

Where? FHS Band Practice Field (do not go to the stadium). Park near Doors 9 & 10.

When? Thursday, August 18th (arrive between 5:30-6 PM)

Please park in the BACK of the school near Doors 9 & 10 first. Carpool if you can, since space is limited. Please drop off your food at the tables set up near the tent, then head over to the band practice field (walk past the tennis courts and baseball fields) by 5:45pm - 6 pm. You are welcome to view the show along the fence line or go down to the field and stand on the sidelines.

After the show, families will go back to the tent area and enjoy dinner together.

Please RSVP HERE and sign up to bring a favorite family dish to share!

Each dish should be ready to serve and portions should feed about 10 people. Please bring a serving utensil and identify whatever items you need to take back after dinner.

Carwash

Get excited for our first fundraising event of the year - the car wash on Saturday, August 27! Student shifts and locations are scheduled based on their instrument and the various sections compete to see who collects the most donations. We need parents and students to make this car wash successful! Parents, you don't have to wash the cars - just supervise. Please see the sign up to see how you can help and to see the student shifts.
We will have two locations:

Exxon - 10480 Lee Hwy (NE corner of Chain Bridge Rd and Fairfax Blvd)
7-Eleven/Exxon - 10485 Lee Hwy (Next to Denny’s)

The Fairfax Band Store is open and taking orders for EXTRA SHOW SHIRTS and SPIRIT WEAR!

All band members are strongly encouraged to pre-order an extra show shirt for $15 so they always have a clean shirt, and in case one gets lost. We do not plan to order any extras to sell later in the season.
New spirit wear items are also available for pre-order. Please note that if we don’t get enough pre-orders for some items, we may decide not to order them, so if there is something you see that you know you want, be sure to order it now!
Be sure to check out the new T-shirt added to the pre-order items just this week!
In-stock spirit wear includes: fleece vests, sweatshirts, car stickers, blankets, stadium seats, and lots more.
The spirit wear team will have some in-stock items available for purchase at the preview night and potluck next Thursday evening.

In-stock orders will be delivered the following Tuesday at band practice, pre-ordered items should be available in mid-September. Don’t forget to add your student’s name in the notes section on the checkout page for easy pickup. Extra show shirt sales and pre-orders for spirit wear will CLOSE on Friday August 19th.
