Events Recap

Lafayette Reservoir Hike

Thank you to all who participated in the Lafayette Reservoir Hike and tackled a challenging incline! It was great to connect with everyone at the hike and afterwards at the brunch café, Lafayette Public House!

Dinner with TAP-SF (In the East Bay)

We had a fun and engaging TAP-SF Dinner at Chao Thai Cuisine in Oakland! We shared our background as Taiwanese Americans growing up in the United States or immigrating here later in life. We also spoke some Taiwanese phrases and words such as the different ways of saying apple in Northern versus Southern Taiwan. We were pleased to see so many East Bay residents join us for the evening. Thank you for those who made it to the dinner!

Dumpling Making Cooking Class with Chef Henry Hsu of Oramasama Dumplings

When: Sunday August 21 from 11AM - 2PM
Where: Good To Eat Dumplings & Modern Taiwanese Cuisine
Register here

TAP-SF is partnering with Taiwanese chef Henry Hsu of Oramasama Dumplings to bring you a personalized dumpling making workshop! At the event, you will learn how to make two distinct types of dumplings (including the dough!), eat everything you make, and take home your own dough to make more dumplings at home (show off to your friends and family!). Come learn about the Taiwan-specific ingredients we will use as well as the history, heritage, and culture behind these dumplings while connecting with others with full hearts and stomachs. The class will take place outdoors and will culminate with a lunch made by you! Henry will round out the meal with some classic Taiwanese accompaniments. And beer will be available for purchase at the restaurant.

Tickets are $50. Please be sure to register on Eventbrite! Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable if you find someone else to take your spot (and let us know).

Friending For Grown-Ups

When: Saturday, August 27 from 3PM - 6PM
Where: Taksim
Register here

Join TAP-SF for an engaging presentation by psychologist Dr. Christine Chang, PhD, about how to make friends as an adult! In her presentation, she will cover a wide range of topics such as making friends, keeping friends, realistic expectations, and the impact of Taiwanese and Taiwanese American culture here. She will also lead us in interactive activities for us to participate in, such as pairing conversations.

After we learn tips for making new acquaintances and maintaining friendships as an adult from Dr. Christine Chang, come put the theory into practice by mingling and making new friends at our happy hour at Taksim! For those who want to keep hanging out, join us for dinner and drinks at a nearby restaurant, and possibly followed by other activities!

Register on Eventbrite. As spots are limited, we kindly ask that you register only if you are certain you can attend, and please update your RSVP if you can no longer make it. Thank you!
