Dear <<First Name>>, here is the National eResearch Newsletter.
National eResearch Newsletter - August 2022
Message from AeRO:

Expectations are building for the first face-face eResearch Australasia Conference for 3 years.  Clearly, everyone can’t wait to meet up again, as a record number of submissions for Oral presentations and Birds-of-Feather sessions have been received.  The Program Committee is currently reviewing these submissions, and it is feared some hard decisions will have to be made - from the samples I have seen, they are probably nearly all going to be of a high standard, which makes rejecting some very painful.  We are looking already at 5 parallel streams, and really can’t countenance any more.  We are hopeful of issuing a draft timetable around 26-Aug, and may have to extend Early-Bird registration (currently due to end on 1-Sep).

In the meantime, there’s lots happening in the sector, as can be seen form this month’s bumper issue of the Newsletter.

Alex Reid, eResAU2022 PC Co-Chair, Newsletter Editor (editor@aero.edu.au).

Digital Humanities for Researchers: Care Planning for Data:  7-Sep
Sometimes research projects can feel never ending, but in fact most projects do have a finish point (such as submitting a thesis).  What then happens to the data collected in the project?  This online workshop run by the Federation for Advancement of Victorian eResearch starts from that question, invites participants to consider possible answers and then to think about the implications for their current data management practices.  We consider the practical, ethical, and technical dimensions of managing research data.
