Back to School: A Letter to Our Students
Dear Students,
We are so excited that you have started a new school year! A new adventure awaits you with the possibility of exciting new memories to come. Some of you are attending a new school, and anxiety and a sense of wonder come with that. There is also anxiety that comes with moving up a grade and a lot of pressure—more challenging classes, more homework, and the added pressure to prepare for college. This new school year might have you feeling anxious. Do you want more for this year than last year? Maybe you're looking for adventure. Is there a sense of wonder? What will this new year bring?
God declares in Joshua 1:9 (NIV):
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
What great news! How encouraging is it to read these words? This school year, take heart that God will walk through it with you as you walk through bad days, work on demanding projects, try out for something, or face the drama that comes with schools and relationships. He is with you wherever you go and will be with you through whatever you face.
I want to add this thought. It's advice from the apostle Paul in Philippians 4:6 (NIV):
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
Make this year a year of prayer. Use this year and all that will come with it as a chance to deepen your prayer life with God. This time has the potential to become one of the most extraordinary years of your life. It could very well become the year of significant growth in your faith.
We hope you will continue to find times to connect here on our church campus on Wednesday nights, 5:45-7 PM, and on Sunday nights, 5-7 PM in The Loft. You can also stay connected to the other ways we serve throughout the year on our Facebook and Instagram (@CokesburyYouth).
Don't be anxious. Remember, God is with you. Don't be worried. Instead, pray. Your church will be praying for you and with you, and we will always be here to remind you how awesome our God is.
Much love and blessings,
Mrs. Dawn & your loving church ♥
