Does Hope double dip?
I remember standing on the banks of the Jordan River with many baptized Christians who really wanted to hop in that river and be baptized again. Is that legal? What does scripture say? Often I am asked if I will baptize someone who has already been baptized when they were younger. The heart and motivation behind the question is almost always because someone is truly excited about their faith in Jesus and they have no recollection of their infant baptism. I get it!

So why do we celebrate the sacrament of communion frequently,
yet are baptized only once?
Or to put it another way, why does Hope not practice double dipping?

This Sunday: Nate continued our series in the book of Psalms with Psalm 109. We find David responding in anger toward enemies who have falsely accused him. This Psalm reminds us of the importance of naming our pain, but then moving forward toward healing in Christ. God’s spirit within us helps bring about reconciliation, and moving in the way of love. Listen and be encouraged!
Creation is our theme all summer long! We are working on memorizing our new Bible verse, Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." We are also learning a song, "My God is so Big," linked here: Sing Hosanna - My God Is So Big | Bible Songs for Kids - YouTube

We are looking for an energetic Jesus follower to join our team as the Hope Kids Elementary Coordinator. We hired Maggie Kroeker in January as our Hope Kids Nursery Coordinator who is specifically helping facilitate the nursery and kids ages 5 and below. The new position, would focus on the next age group ages 5-10 or Elementary age kids. As we encourage and love that our church is intergenerational, we are going to begin offering a program for our young worshippers during the Sunday sermon. More details on that to come.... stay tuned!
If you are interested in this position or know of someone who might be interested please email Blake Mueses.
